my yoga philosophy.
I believe yoga is all about showing up. To your breath, to the work, and to each other.
I don't believe yoga has anything to do with how cool your pants are, or how good your buns look inside ‘em.
Nor do I believe yoga has anything to do with whether you can do full splits, half splits, or no splits.
because I believe, yoga is, at the end of the day:
an inside job.
Which is why my favorite teachers aren’t the ones who boss me around, or insert their game voice whenever I get the urge do my own thing.
My favorite teachers are, in fact, the ones who go bananas whenever they observe a student off-road. Because it means something real + true is happening inside their asana practice. It means that instinct is winning.
For whatever reason, these teachers also happen to be the same exact ones who get really pumped up about the playlist they put together, then can’t figure out the stereo system, and offer the class up anyway.
These teachers are my everything.
